Monday, November 15, 2010

M/Y "Azteca" is the pleasure ship, hull number 124, of the CRN shipyard based in Ancona, a brand belonging to the Ferretti Group. This vessel, 72 metres in length, built on a naval platform of 13.50m, and made of steel and aluminium, is the biggest cruising yacht ever built in CRN history.
Azteca, like all the other vessels realized by CRN, is a completely new "fully customized" project implemented through the collaboration of the shipyard engineering staff and the Nuvolari & Lenard company.
THE PROJECT
Azteca has a sophisticated and innovative design. The slender shapes of the hull together with particularly modern and racy external lines, accentuated by the pronounced and sharp stem, characterize and distinguish the powerful realization of CRN within the scene of mega yachts this size.
Given the excellent balance between the design and the imposing volumes, the mega yacht acquires a particularly aggressive character, accentuated by the wide open spaces of the sun deck while breaking the schemes that expect big boats to have a less "sportive" soul.

Finally, like an inspired work of art, the realization of this ship is also based on the sharp tuning between the shipyard and the ship owner, whose personality was at the basis of the project choices. A true homage to luxury and refinement, Azteca was developed so that it can offer guests the possibility to interweave a strong bond with the sea.

INNOVATION
For this purpose, at the stern of the lower deck, a completely innovative area will be equipped as an authentic "beach club" of more than 100 sq m.
In fact the stern port can be transformed into a big beach close to the sea, equipped with an external shower and a sun pads which the guests can use as a solarium. At the back there is a wide indoor space dedicated to the total relaxation of the guests who can easily enjoy the proximity of the sea as they relax on the comfortable sofas or enjoy a tasty aperitif at the bar.

INTERIORS
On the main deck there are 2 suites which serves as accommodation for some of the 12 guests of the mega yacht and, obviously, the ship owner's suite, an environment that the ship owner wanted to link directly to the sea through the door which can be folded at 90 degrees from within the cabin and that can be prepared as a "terrace" overlooking the sea. The two bathrooms, one reserved for the ship owner and one for the owner's wife are entirely covered with marble, embellished by the matching of two different prestigious essences at the base, to personalize and enrich the various environments: inserts of brown Tiger's eye for the ship owner's bathroom and a slab of mother-of-pearl to soften the owner's wife's room.
A true cinema room, equipped with a 65 inch screen, a big wardrobe and a massage room complete the owner's suite.
Below on the lower deck, there are 2 VIP cabins each of which has a third wall bed, and at the stern there are two more cabins for guests and the staff at their service.
Moreover, this deck holds 12 lodgings reserved for the crew who can enjoy a wide space which is organized so that it facilitates their living and work in the best way possible.
In this area, very wide spaces have been reserved for storage: refrigerating cells, the laundry area and two big garages where there are Riva Shuttles, which are almost 10 metres long with a maximum speed of 45 knots, a service tender, which is almost 7 metres long, and four jet skis.
The upper deck is different given its wide spaces such as the "Special VIP" cabin that the ship owner can give to special guests, giving them the possibility to enjoy a large cabin with a wide view and complete discretion, and also the captain's cabin, at the stem, in a cabin adjacent to the radio room and the steerage, equipped with the most modern navigation systems.
A big panoramic lift with crystal walls and decorated marble floor links the three upper decks.
The two big kitchens equipped with avant-garde instruments and machinery on the mega yacht are an expression of the ship owner's great love for researched food. A professional kitchen of about 50mq located on the main deck, and another one for pleasant moments of "tasting" on the upper deck where there is a White Carrara marble table.
On the upper deck itself there is a refrigerated cellar to store cold meats and cheeses and a wine cellar.
EXTERIORS
Worth noting is the wide unique sun deck. Extending over 33 metres of length and 10 metres of width, it is entirely dedicated to outdoor life: big sofas, a bar area, a Jacuzzi and many sun beds that can easily make space for the landing of a 2500kg helicopter, at the stem.
Two spaces were guests can socialize: a round dining table made of bronze on the upper deck and another one made of wengè with a Carrara marble top in the cockpit on the main deck.
Hi-fi systems and TV branded Bang & Olufsen.
Finally, on the sun deck, the ship owner has equipped an area as a fitness area with Technogym equipment, where the guests can carry out fitness sessions while enjoying the panoramic view.

TECHNOLOGY

In the engine room, which has a separate control room, two Caterpillar motors 3516 push "Azteca" at a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15.
A masterpiece of elegance and sophistication, this mega yacht, among the longest realized in Italy, up to its final detail, is the final result of the ship owner's precise vision of how to spend free time, characterized by close contact with the sea. All of this is in line with the "custom" philosophy in which CRN believes firmly and that allows the shipyard of the Marche region to once again distinguish itself among the 500 participating exhibitors at the Monaco Yacht Show, with a very unique floating dwelling.
